A working brief for AI search observation
A proposed method for documenting where and how a brand appears in generated answers.
This is an early working note. We will add examples, sources, and fuller evidence as this topic develops.
Define a repeatable question set
Choose questions that reflect a real audience and document why each belongs in the set. Record the wording, location, product surface, and date so later observations have context.
Capture the answer, not only the mention
A mention may be useful, misleading, or incidental. Review the surrounding answer, cited sources, and any missing qualifications before deciding what the observation means.
Treat change with care
Generated answers can vary across runs and interfaces. A working brief should describe that variability and avoid turning a small collection of examples into a broad performance claim.
