Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)
Understand how generative search experiences describe and cite your brand, then strengthen the owned and external sources that inform those answers.
A clear process, from evidence to action.
We agree the project scope and inputs first. The steps below describe the work itself, including what is reviewed, changed, and checked afterward.
Define the market questions and establish a baseline
Agree on the buyer prompts, competitors, language, location, and generative platforms that fit the audience. Record brand mentions, descriptions, and citations with the platform and date so the starting point is interpretable.
Trace the sources behind the answers
Review the owned pages and third-party sources surfaced for the prompt set. Compare recurring source types and competitor references, and flag missing, inconsistent, or outdated information about the brand.
Prioritize the gaps that can be addressed
Separate site accessibility and entity clarity issues from content gaps and off-site source gaps. Rank actions by relevance to buyer questions, evidence available, effort, and what Tipsaw and the client have agreed to deliver.
Strengthen the sources, not just the wording
Improve accurate, useful information on priority pages; clarify supported facts and relationships; and plan genuinely valuable research or third-party outreach where appropriate. No fabricated reviews, paid-for editorial claims, or guaranteed placements are part of the approach.
Repeat the checks and adapt the roadmap
Re-run the agreed prompts periodically and compare mentions, accuracy, citations, and source changes. When analytics allow, consider AI referral activity alongside the visibility record, then adjust priorities. Individual answers can vary between runs.
